India has a rich and varied culture. 80% of land area in India is covered with greenery. Although education has helped people a lot in developing themselves day to day to cope with the rapid growth of civilization and modernization, it could not help people to understand the value of mother earth. Learning and gaining huge amount of knowledge on environment is easy but applying them is difficult. In fact most of people do not even care to follow the rules of helping the mother earth maintain her beauty.
Recent news recalls a story of a young boy of 17 years old who did a great job to prove himself the best saviour of mother earth and her green beauty. Being a son of two environmental architects, the 17 year old Achyut Jaigopal, became renowned as the greenest student on this planet. Not only that, Achyut proved him as the best saviour and his parents were the best teacher for environment.
Learning basic principles from his parents, Achyut always loved nature dearly. He respected natural beauty and did everything to protect the by-products of nature. He never spoilt a single beauty of the earth and instead always tried to keep the environment neat and clean. He was a student of the green school in Bali which is in Indonesia when he was selected for receiving the respect of the Greenest Student of the Year in the scholarship competition.
The green competition was held and Achyut won the respect and name among 55 other participants. He did something so impressive that each and every people present there went overwhelmed. He planned to do something very different. The competition had a task of playing a three-minute video to show the hero behind each and every participant for the protection of Mother Nature.
Achyut showed the judges a wonderful video in which he showed a wonderful link between people and nature with the help of few musicians. In the video, he showed that he settled up a music concert and put a ticket counter for the show. Achyut also added extra scenes to add more to his video like he was a vegan who liked to survive only on the cereals and crops grown of his own land. This unique thinking was not easy to pass its chance.
It went through a long screening test before it got selected. He inherited many characterizes like living in bamboo house in Kochi and leading a very sustainable living style from his parents. Even while constructing their house, they depended only on natural items. He says that the scholarship he got will help him a lot in doing more for the nature in his previous days. He can set up a committee and work for the protection of the nature. He also plans to make an album on the topic of green earth. This would surely help people to gain knowledge on how environment must be protected.
