Mumbai is a place in India that has a lot of opportunities for the children. Starting from public library to various institutes any child can be educated here. Recently, a new public library has been established here in the suburbs of Mumbai that completely focuses on the education of the children. The children that are incapable of spending money can have access to any book in this library and help themselves in their studies. The mayor also provided some nice incentives to the children in this venture. In the summer vacations, if a child pledges to read some number of books and achieves it then the mayor comes down personally to provide a certificate to that child and thus motivate them to study more and more.
A lot of people are there that are good readers and have kept some nice collection of books at their home while there are people that provide the privilege to their children to buy any kind of books. However, in this public library we have taken the initiative to mix both these categories and provide the books to the children.
This public library which is especially for the children was built by Vibha Kamat who understood the necessity of the children and built it for the betterment of the various under-privileged kids that are present in the society. Initially, the process of creating such an innovative library was filled with a lot of hurdles. First one was the place to build it. Finding a place to build a library requires some great effort as there is lack of space here. But after some fine searches the place was found. The second hurdle was finding the appropriate books for the children. As all of us know that whenever a child grows in age the parents throw away the books or sell it to any scrap dealer which made it almost impossible to get the books. But after the government started funding the library, the library began to be filled with nice books and novels for children which made the library more interesting. Today, this library stands with a considerable amount of books for the children and even today people are providing books and donating money for the improvement of this library.
This innovative approach by Vibha Kamat has made the future of lot of children. It has provided them with a new light that was missing in the absence of this library. Libraries are considered as the building blocks in the life of a child without which a child will fail to know about the outside world or various other things that are happening in the society or the current news or any other events. Such libraries are a boon to this country and must be done in every city in order to make the country more and richer in knowledge as well as produce some nice gems from the slum areas that will increase the reputation of the country worldwide without any delay.
