When we look in the sky, we think how far we are from the sun or the moon? How big is the universe? What are celestial bodies? Is that possible to see the dark black hole in the sky? All these questions catch our curiosity & yes we want the answers to all these questions. So I am here to discuss few of the facts about celestial science.
A. What is Universe & how big is that?
Astronomers kept trying to measure the universe since years by using a special instrument called a spectroscope. According to this earth, we came to know that our universe is expanding outward in every direction. At the same time, one celestial term was also introduced "Big Bang Theory", which we will surely discuss later.
Universe is a big empty space, consists of three major components: Stars, Solar system & Galaxies.
1. Solar system: Sun & all its planets and objects moving around them collectively is known as Solar system, Consists of 8 planets in following order:
Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune
Pluto was removed from the planets family due to its small size and highly eccentric orbit.
2. Galaxies: Galaxies are formation of group of stars, gases, and dust particles. Solar system is in Milky Way, which is also known as Akashganga.
3. Stars: Stars can be seen during night. They are glowing celestial bodies which emit their light. Sun is the brightest star & Second brightest star is Alpha Centauri. There are Shapes & creatures seen in the constellation, one of them is Omega Centauri.
We cannot even imagine how vast the universe is but According to Astronomers, universe is approximately 13.8 billion years old. Scientists' predicts the shape of the universe as sphere, flat or infinite sometimes.
B. Explain the Beginning of the universe?
Many facts were in the air speaking about how our universe was originated. Then we all heard about "Big bang Theory".
Big Bang theory
When we ask few scientists about the origin of the universe, they talk about an explosion happened billons of year back which created our vast universe. Prior to that, there was nothing. In actual, there was no explosion took place, it was an expansion that happened billions of year back. Our Universe was extremely hot & dense before expansion; it became cooler & less dense after expansion. Scientists are not sure about what exactly happened before expansion, but just fraction of seconds after Big bang happened, universe started to expand.
C. What are celestial bodies or astronomical objects?
Celestial bodies are consists of Stars, planets, solar system, universe & other moving objects. Each celestial body is made up of material i.e., rock, gas or ice. Any asteroid in space is a celestial body. Celestial objects are also known as astronomical objects.
Other than these, our universe has presence of strange objects also which is called as BLACK HOLE. It is an invisible object in outer space formed when a massive star collapses from its own gravity. A black hole has such a strong pull of gravity that not even light can escape from it. Once any matter falls into a black hole, it disappears from the visible universe.
