Their background in this field will help them in managing situations effectively. This is a highly reputed course. Also there is a huge demand globally. Candidates on completion of this course are on demand in India and abroad. It also helps in personal development. Normally the exams are conducted by the universities to which the institutes are affiliated to.
It will take four years for the candidates to be Graduate in the field. They need to choose the area of specialization like electrical, electronics, mechanical etc. each year there will be two semesters. The schedule of B.Tech Exam is normally held at the end of the semester. There is a gap of normally 6 months between each exam. One of the main advantages of semester system is that it reduces students’ burden. An academic system is divided into two terms called semesters. According to students, though this has helped them prepare better for the exams, in depth knowledge of the subjects is missing
Grading of the B.Tech Exam is the determination factor on whether the candidates move to the next semester. A benchmark is created. If any of the students score below the level then they will be awarded the fail grade. This varies from 40% to 50%. Clearing of back papers in B.Tech Exams is also very important. In some places it is also known as allowed to keep terms (A.T.K.T). Though the students move on to the next semester they will need to clear the same. As per the new norms if the candidates have A.T.K.T. in the 1st and 2nd Semester then they will need to clear the same by 5th Semester. It is important that they do not have A.T.K.T. during the final year as it could impact their final placements.
The exam pattern of B.Tech is also very up to date. The model involves both internal assessment as well as written exam. The internal assignment will include projects, practical, assignments etc. Normally 30% is allocated to this section. The rest will be for the written exam. The exam pattern varies. The latest pattern used by many institutes has objective type questions, short answers and long answers. Also before the main exam, there will be mock exam to give the students a chance to know their knowledge levels.
The various research works in the semester system helps student explore their interest in their own subjects, students and teachers become well acquainted and cordially intimate with each other during the process which helps student to get a more knowledgeable impact from the perspective of their professors. Also, the semester system helps student to take up the activities which they are also interested in like sports, music etc. as the study load does not exhaust them fully.
Semester exam is generally held on December and July of every year and the exams are governed by the state university under which the colleges are registered. Semesters in the IIT are determined by the Board of Educationists and Deans in IIT.
