The 21st century has seen a lot of innovation and invention. The field of medicine has made the maximum amount of progress in this period. There has been a lot of progress in the medical industry. Still there seem to be a certain level of flaws in the medical field. The people who are studying in medical colleges are not deserved candidates. Al the students have not cracked the medical entrance test to get into these practices. These students don’t turn out to be the best doctors in the country.
There are a lot of malpractices that have been taking place in the admission process in the medical colleges. These malpractices need to be stopped at once. In most of the institutions the students are granted admission on the payment of capitation fees. The students are not admitted in merit basis. The private colleges charge a lot of money for their courses and this causes a lot of damage to the students. Most of the private colleges in the country take capitation fees and give their seats to non deserving students across the country. This is not permitted at all.
There are a lot of government colleges in the country. The government colleges take students according to the merit list. The different states have different standards of teaching levels. This causes the differentiation in medical knowledge of many students. The admission process is also different in many states. The private colleges provide a better standard of education but they charge a lot of fees during the admission process. Many of the deserving students cannot pay the fees and are deprived of the better quality education. This has become a regular practice across the country.
Single admission test:
The supreme court of the country has now decided that there will be only one medical entrance across the country. This means that every state had their own way of selecting students but now the entire system will be unified under one board. This gives the private colleges and undue advantage. Now they can charge as much fees as they want in order to gain profits. This single admission test will also help the students to get the same education across the entire country. This will make the students of all class come to the same level of education.
The decision by the Supreme Court could also mean that the private institutions could make profits. Capitation fees could easily get a non deserving candidate into a medical college. Once that student passes out from college he will not take his profession as a means to serve the people. He will rather turn out to be a money maker from his profession. This cannot be allowed by the Indian government. The government does not see the medical industry as a profit making field. The medical field is a place to serve the people of the country rather than charge money and make profits.
