There are mainly two types of lines of education available. This is the best line of the technical scenario where you need to apply things practically on the working system.
The current status of engineering education has grown a lot from the past. You can find innumerable good universities and colleges offering the engineering education.
Mode of getting in
For almost all the colleges in India, the way to get in any engineering college is the entrance exam based on the syllabus of physics, chemistry and mathematics of class 11th and 12th. The exam is mainly consisting of multiple choice questions and candidates need to tick the right option. In India you will find mainly two exams conducted all over the India and they are IIT-JEE and Aieee. These two exams place the successful candidates to the reputed IIT's and NIT's. Apart from this, there are state and private exams being conducted in the state government engineering colleges.
Present streams of engineering in India

All the streams have their own good scope in the future. With the developing India, all the streams find its application. The most preferred stream for maximum students is the Computer Science and Electronics. Due to the rapid increment in the IT sectors in India, these two streams are gaining ground in a large extent.
Nature of work
The education of engineering involves the application of the basic theories and principles of science and mathematics in order to solve the technical problems. Their main work is to provide a bridge between the scientific discoveries and the commercial needs of the consumer. In making any discovery or invention, there are several steps involved. Some engineers are grouped under maintenance part, some are grouped under testing and some are grouped under developing or programming part.
Employment
If you have taken engineering as your profession then in India you will find a good scope in your future as the percentage of the unemployment is very less. If you opt for the computer line then there are many IT sectors and many are evolving, where you will find a good job scope. For the core branches like electrical and mechanical you will find many companies providing placements. For the civil their scope is very good as you will find different large and small constructions in India. Thus the present status for the unemployment in the engineering line is very less. Even the statistics show that about 3 percent of the engineers are self employed. Other studies show that 37 percent of the engineers get placed in the manufacturing industries, 28 percent goes to the scientific and research line. The present status of the engineering line is very bright and if you take it seriously and then it is going to be a good decision in terms of money and job.
