Education department for UT paved several new ways to develop the education system. Earlier, the children did not have facilities for getting a good education. Later developments in all fields of education took place. As per recent researches, there are about 107 government schools and many government aided schools in Chandigarh. As per the new rules, class X appeared students can take admission in class XI in any stream they wish according to the eligibility list. The list of the candidates eligible for the streams of science, commerce and the arts has been uploaded on the official website.
Earlier, there was a lack good school and teaching environment in the UTs. The remaining schools had improper infrastructures. The UT education department took the initiative to establish good schools and developed the learning area. Education started off as a revolution towards good culture and society. Children could attend schools and were not distinguished according to their caste or religion. Equal rights were also provided for the girls to attend the school.
Schools were set up within every 1km so that accessing to the school for the children and kids would be easier. Later, society development and the education department succeeded in spreading the effect of education to each and every corner. Apart from government and government aided schools, Chandigarh also had private institutions set up.
High Schools were set up and students were able to continue their studies in the same school. Teaching faculties improved. Nowadays, Chandigarh department sets up reforms to make the education system more attractive and based on particular rules and regulations. School management teams improved their admission programs both for normal classes and board appeared students.
Students who wished to take admission in the government schools in class XI applied for registration according to the notice provided in the official website. The Students who wanted to change their stream or shift to a new school were also to submit their form in the website. The list of those eligible candidates has been given out according to their marks, pre-board results, vacancy and the choice they had applied for. UT education department had already uploaded the list of the candidates according to their stream for first two rounds of counseling. This list is for the third round of counseling uploaded recently which began on 13th August, 2013.
Reports says that there are about 2175 seats allotted for the third round of counseling in total including all the three streams-science has 482 seats, commerce has 302 seats and humanities stream has 1391 seats. The seats still vacant were for the reserved categories. The education department wants to convert those seats to general category and will be distributed in all the streams shortly.
The Chandigarh education department also says that seats has been reserved and allotted for vocational courses in the previous rounds of counselling. Students have been differentiated according to their percentage in class X board results. Any student who wants to change the school or the stream can apply for enrolling their name in the respective school and the stream according to the list. No candidate has been given approval for the seat in any stream without merit. Seats are allotted based on strict judgment of their eligibility and seats availability.
