Swami Vivekananda had said that to make the future of India prosperous and shinning, it is important to make the women or the mothers literate and educated. According to him only an educated mother can provide good culture and values to her child, who will later be the future of this country. So, women's education is important and the country knows that. So she had taken some initiative to provide to the most deprived people of this patriarchal society and they are women. These initiatives have also helped the people in this society to change their views and allow the women in their house to receive education.
The initiative that is taken by CBSE and the UGC are:
"· In the year 2005, a scholarship for the single girl child was launched by the UGC and CBSE. This scholarship allows a single girl child to avail free education. This scholarship is given the students from VI-XII. Not only that those families who had two girls in their family and if they are admitted in a CBSE affiliated school they can have a 50% concession in their school fees. Only if money is charged for any kind of transport or for the food that is available in the canteen, that money is not included in this concession. Not only has that CBSE also provided almost 550 scholarships to the girls who have done good result in standard XII. The amount of this scholarship is rupees 500. The scholarship is provided only to the meritorious student. The UGC also have taken many initiatives for the girl child. They have planned to give almost rupees 2000 to the students who are studying in the college.
UDAAN
"· It is an initiative taken by the government, mainly for a place called Hardoi in Uttar Pradesh. Udaan is a school in Hardoi, here the girls of 9-14 years of age group is provided education.
"· Not only that it is a learning model school for the girls and it also provides primary education to the women in just 11 month.
ECD
This is one of the largest initiatives, to teach women. This initiative provides holistic education to the women and also to the young children. This was actually a Chhattisgarh based project but the success of this project had spread into different other states of the country.
"· This service also includes things like pre school education and also provides services and classes on hospitality.
"· Most importantly this initiative provides the women education at the time of crisis; that is during the time of natural and artificial crisis.
"· And not only that these educational initiatives also provide psychological and social education to the women and teach them about the psychology and the society of the human. And also give the women a social and a psychological support.
"· This educational initiative provides maternity help to the women at the time of their need.
There are initiatives taken and there are programmes to teach women. One day all the women in this country will be educated and the future of India will be shinning and glorious.
