The education system in India has gone through a lot of controversy for decades after decades. Because of this education system, a lot of students have not been able to achieve what they could have. There is no doubt about the fact that the education system in India should go through some necessary changes.
Fundamental Problems education system in India:
In India, the education system actually generates a rat race among the students. The students generally try to memorize the whole texts. Sometimes, they don’t have the proper idea about what they are actually reading. Their analytical ability is not grown. This education system does not help at all to grow the persona of a child. They do not learn to show their actual personality to the outer world.
Sometimes it has also been seen that the teachers are not always trained. Medium of Language is another big issue. In India, English is given more emphasis as the language in which the students have to study. More often than not, a lot of student can not understand their subject matters in that foreign language. Students are forced to give much more importance on numbers in the examinations rather than his analytical ability or understanding of the subject matter.
Lack of schools in rural areas:
If you just go to some of the remote rural areas the number of schools is not adequate. Often you will see that a lot of teenagers do not go to school. Even if there is a school, there is not right number of teachers or the proper infrastructure which can help a student to study properly. Now, in lot of areas people need to pay a lot of money for the education of their children which a lot of families can not afford. As a result of this, a lot of children in the villages are not getting the light of education.
Why the system is required changes:
Because of the problems discussed above, the Indian students are getting behind when it is compared with the international level. They have the same talent and ability but as they don’t have the application power, the level of their education is not going high. In various areas a lot of children don’t get the opportunity to study. Their talent is completely wasted. For a lot of children, education has become nothing but a burden. There is no doubt about the fact that only proper education can create a perfect citizen of the country. On that note, the education system of India must be changed.
What kind of changes required:
A learning centric education system will be far better than an exam centric system. Rather than memorizing the notes for higher marks in examinations, the students have to be encouraged to show their analytical ability and grow up their personality. Rather than using the voluminous text books, some more interactive measures can be used. A lot of field trips can be arranged. In rural areas, more schools have to be established. The expenditure you need to make for admitting the child into school must be decreased so that more and more students can actually come to school and learn. The teachers need to have sound knowledge and proper technical skill to handle any kind of child.
All these necessary changes will surely make the education system in India much more progressive. The students will be able to achieve their goals in a far better way.
