Introduction
This is the
ultimate test of programming and problem-solving skills (should be written in C
language). The event is to test the student’s ability of finding errors in the
solution provided and solving a problem in terms of using appropriate
algorithms, data structures and other technicalities. Apart from coding the
focus of the event is to check how various algorithm techniques are used in
solving a problem and how quick they are in finding the bugs. The problems
should be analysed, and the most optimum programming technique is to be used
and submit their solution in C or C++ language.
Round
1: Elimination
There will be 30 questions on C programming and
Technical GK which the participants must solve within 30 minutes.
There will be no negative marking.
Top 60 teams (which can change if there are
multiple teams on Rank 60) will be qualified for Round 2.
Selection will be considered based on marks only
and not time.
Round
2: Debugging (HackerRank)
All the teams qualified for Round 2 will be
competing on www.hackerrank.com.
Teams will have to register on HackerRank in order
to participate in this round.
Teams will have to remove the bugs from the
programs given to them.
There will be 5 problems (written in C language)
which the teams will have to solve within 30 minutes.
Top 30 teams in the HackerRank’s leaderboard will
qualify for the final round, i.e. Round 3.
Ranking system used in Round 2 is “Default
HackerRank Leaderboard” which ranks the team as follows:
-Team with maximum
number of points will be on the top of the Ranklist.
-In case of a tie,
fastest team to achieve that point will be on the top.
-There is no penalty
for wrong submissions.
Round
3: Coding (CodeChef)
Top 30 teams qualified for this round will have to
register on the provided URL (it will be a specific path of www.codechef.com
for example: https://www.codechef.com/MCQ2018/)
where the teams will have to register as a team (if they have not yet
registered).
Teams will be given 2 hours to solve 5 questions.
The level of question will be beginner and easy:
According to CodeChef’s website.
Each question (based on their difficulty) will have
different number of points assigned to it.
Teams will have to write a program (in C or C++)
based on the problem given in the questions.
Top 3 teams in the CodeChef’s Ranklist
(Leaderboard) will be declared as winners.
Ranking system used in Round 3 will be IOI Style
Ranking which ranks the team as follows:
-Team with maximum
number of points will be on the top of the Ranklist.
-In case of a tie,
fastest team to achieve that point will be on the top.
-There is no penalty
for wrong submissions.
Also, students will be given a 15 - 20 min
demonstration on “how to submit an answer on CodeChef” before Round 3.
Team
Requirement
This is a team-based event.
Each team can have a 2 or maximum 3 members
(individuals not allowed).
Each member of the team must contain the identity
card of his/institute
