Developing Minor Injury Care (non-accredited study days)

The study days are designed to develop skills in assessing, planning, treating and safely discharging clients presenting with minor injuries. You will evaluate the evidence base for practice thereby enhancing your clinical reasoning skills and learn practical skills. Areas you will cover include:

• Review of relevant anatomy and physiology of injury

• Obtaining a history

• Physical examination

• Investigations, including indication for radiography

• Treatment

The study days themselves are intensive and will provide practical hands on workshops conducting a physical examination using anatomy palpation and surface marking on each system. Your learning will involve an in-depth examination using the look, feel, move and special technique approach, investigations, treatment and discharge advice. Using the latest evidence based knowledge/practice, you will put into practice your clinical reasoning skills as the ability to discriminate between presenting problems is the core behind successful treatment and recovery.

£130 per day
