A warm invitation to all double bassists, young and old to join us on Sunday 3 November at Birmingham Conservatoire for our annual Double Bass Day. Following on from the success of Double Bass Day in 2012, we have planned an even more ambitious and fun-packed day for you all. The day showcases our recently appointed International Chair in Double Bass, Thomas Martin, Visiting double bass guru Cathy Elliott and tutor and CBSO bassist Tom Millar (SPARKS). The day is full to capacity with teaching of all levels, performances by staff and students alike, including our very own Birmingham Conservatoire Double Bass Ensemble.
There are even sessions for teachers, ensemble sessions and the day will end with a mass double bass ensemble where everyone will be invited to participate. The day is completely free of charge and we encourage you to send in your online registration that will enable us to place you in appropriate ensembles or master classes. We cannot wait for you to join us to celebrate this unique and wonderful instrument!
