Department of Computer Science and Information technology organized a two day National Workshop on LATEX Ã¢â‚¬â€œ The language on scientific Dissertation writing on 9th -10th AprilÃ¢â‚¬â„¢ 2011. The conference was technically supported by RTU Kota. The chief Parton of the conference were professor R.P. Yadav, Vice Chancellor R.T.U. Kota, Mr. Prem Surana, chairman, Mr. Anshu Surana, Vice Chairman, Deepshiha Group of Colleges. The sessions of the workshop were taken by Dr. Rajeev gupta, Prof. & Head, ECE, RTU, Kota, Sh Mithilesh kumar, Ass. Prof. ECE, R.T.U. Kota, Sh. R.K. Banyal Asst. Prof. CE, R.T.U. , Kota. Latex is a document preparing system for high quality type setting. It can be used for any form of publishing. It is the defector standard for the communication and publication of scientific documents. The gun plot is a portable command line driven graphing utility and supports many types of plots in 2D and 3D. It was originally created to allow scientists and students to visualize mathematical functions and data interactively but has grown to support many non interactive uses such as web scripting. The latex in combination with gun plot is an ideal platform to produce research monograms, publications and thesis and provides great features for layout quality. However, the research community especially the students seen to be unaware of it. This course was an attempt to provide extensive training to produce scientific documents using LATEX and make 2D and 3D plots using gun plots and open sources technology. Moreover tips for writing quality technical paper was an added advantage. The experts from RTU Kota took brain storming sessions and definitely the students were benefitted by the National Workshop. The valedictory function was graced by Prof. R.P. Yadav, VC RTU, Kota. The guest speakers were felicitated with mementos. Dr. R.S. Tiwari, Principal RCERT extended the vote of thanks. Students applauded three cheers on the success of National Workshop. It was an learning memorable experience for them.
