Government of Tripura has been implementing NRHM in the right earnest. The opportunities presented in NRHM are going to be used in the state to set in motion the march towards achievement of the vision 2018 developed by Government of Tripura. It envisages a dynamic community owned and managed health system facilitated by the government so as to enable the community meet their health needs..
To ensure community ownership of the mission in general and health programmes in particular, we have developed the plans of actions at all levels through decentralized participatory process right from village level to GP to Block to Sub- division to District to State level in this bottom-up manner.
Reproductive & Child Health:
RCH is a programme for mother and child.1st phase RCH-I launched in the year 1998 & 2nd phase of RCH II commenced from 1st April 2005.Main objective of the programme is to bring about the change mainly in the three critical health indicators:-
Reduce total fertility rate
Infant mortality rate
Maternal mortality ratio
With a view to realizing the outcome envisioned in the Millennium Development goal, National Population policy, and National health policy, vision 2020 India.
Reduce the decadal rate of population
Reduce IMR to 25/1000 live birth by 2012
Reduce TFR to 2.1 by 2012
Reduce MMR to less then 1/1, 00000
