More than 3 lakh 70 thousand students have filled up application for the clerics' exams which is conducted by the 'Madrasa Board for clerics'. The number of applicants this year has risen sharply as compared to the last year when a much lesser number of candidates applied for the exam.
The total count of applicants to have filled the form online for being appointed as munshi, qamil, maulvi, aalim and faazil was 3,76,060. According to the officials, this is a much bigger number as compared to last year which shows that the youth are much more open to the internet than before.
According to the officials, in the past, the exam was postponed thrice as the number of applicants were just too less to conduct the exam.
According to the Board's Chairman, the exams would be conducted between 11th and 23rd April.
He also added that an examination, syllabi and a monitoring committee have been formed to conduct the exam.
