According to the senior officials from AIIMS, the institute has called a meeting for the faculty members in order to discuss about the revised pay scale for the faculty members.
The meeting is being organized by the institute after Indian Express reported that the Union government is asking about the previous hike under the Sixth Central Pay Commission and if the faculty was paid salary according to the UGC scale.
Seniors reported that in the meeting the administration will discuss about the “release of interim relief for its faculty” before the revised pay scale is finalized by the government.
“The competent authority has desired to hold a meeting on Tuesday… at 2 pm… All members are requested to kindly make it convenient to attend the meeting…,” the order said.
Following dignitaries will be present in the upcoming meeting:
- Professor Balram Airan, Dean (Academic)
- R K Sudhanshu, Deputy Director (Administration)
- Raj Kumar, Senior Financial Advisor and representative of the Faculty Association of AIIMS
17 faculty members have already quitted the AIIMS in last three years and five of them did so in the last six months. A committee was set up by AIIMS which highlighted unattractive pay as the reason behind the faculty quitting the institute.
