Allahabad University was set to conduct Post Graduate Admission Test (PGAT) 2016. The test was conducted on June 24, 2016, as per the allotted time and slot for various disciplines.
The University of Allahabad, informally known as Allahabad University, is a public central university located in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, India. Established on 23 September 1887, it is the fourth oldest University in India. The controversy of paper leak was created by the students because when they were attempting the exam, the pictures of papers were circulated among the University's authorities. This step was taken to ensure the provision of admission details of all the authorities at the right time. Professor B.N. Singh, Director, Admissions told the media that it wasn't possible to leak the papers because no cell phone or media devices were not permitted during the examination, on the premises of the university. The online examination was conducted at a total of 80 centers and offline examination was conducted in 26 centers across the country. PGAT is conducted for admission to all the Postgraduate courses in various disciplines offered by the university.
Despite the leak rumors created by the students which were soon smashed by the officials because of the presence of media at the right time, which in turn helped the officials to conduct the examination without any chaos or trouble.
