The Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals has yet again set the benchmark in the medical industry. The Hospital launched the 'Second Kunwar Viren Oswal Course in Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, Liver Transplantation and Nutrition'. The Hospital was the site of India's first ever paediatrics liver transplant in 1998. Since then, the Hospital has seen a number of accomplishments related to paediatric gastroenterology and nutrition.
This unique course spans across 6 days. The course would be divided into two parts, viz. Four days of lectures and a 2 day workshop for the attendees on how to conduct endoscopies. No such course exists in Asia. Globally recognized experts and faculties from as many as 23 nations would share their knowledge and experience with the attendees during this program. The Hospital is conducting this ambitious program in association with Indian Academy of Paediatrics' Delhi unit. Asian Pan-Pacific Society for Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, Liver transplantation and Nutrition (APPSPGHAN) has also come out in open support of this program.
The director of the course and the Medical Director of Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals, Dr. Anupam Sibal, took this opportunity to underline the hospital's constant endeavour to achieve clinical excellence. He also highlighted the growing number of patients affected by either liver or gastrointestinal issues. According to him, exchange of knowledge would go a long way in enhancing the quality of solutions offered by the paediatricians. The course would be based upon evidence based content which would further enhance the knowledge of the attendees.
