After receiving the complaints of corruption against the 28 colleges of Delhi University, Education Minister, Manish Sisodia wrote to the CAG demanding an audit on all the 28 colleges of DU.
All the 28 colleges are funded by the Delhi government either partially or wholly.
Earlier, the government has order to freeze all the funds of 28 colleges as they failed to constitute the Governing Bodies over the past 10 months even after repeated reminder from the government.
Seeing the situation, teachers of DU have written to the Vice Chancellor, Yogesh Tiwari, in which they urged to complete the process of forming GB on ASAP basis so that the studies of students are not affected due to freezing of the funds.
“I have written to CAG asking for comprehensive audit of 28 Delhi govt funded colleges, as I have received many complaints of corruption. 28 colleges need CAG audit as there are complaints of corruption; with no Governing Bodies for 10 months, thereʼs been no oversight,” Sisodia said in a series of tweets.
Sisodia, who is also the education minister, said, “It seems governing bodies have not been formed so that corruption and irregularities can go on. Public money cannot be wasted like this”.
He also posted a letter from BJP MP Udit Raj on Twitter which complains about the irregularities in appointing the teachers in govt. funded colleges.
“The university is in the process of completing the formalities and soon the bodies will be formed,” a senior DU official said.
