The nuisance of the Bihar's cheating scam is continuing. This time, Bihar's Topper of Humanities stream, Ruby Rai appeared before the officials quite confidently for the retest.
According to the officials, she already did not show up for two meetings called by the BESB for conducting the retest. She appeared confident but couldn't answer any question properly, which was put up by the officials of Bihar School Examination Board. This was followed by the incident when Ruby was asked to write an essay on The Indian Poet Tulsidas. She wrote: 'Tulsidas Ji, pranaam' and that one liner essay came as a shock for everyone. She claimed that she had studied for nearly two years to pass the exam. She told the panel that she had forgotten everything that she had studied for the exam, in three months. Her unsatisfactory performance in the retest was followed by her arrest.
Ruby Rai scored 444 out of 500 whereas Saurabh Shrestha had scored 485 out of 500. They responded with bizarre answers when the reporters asked them a few questions from General Science. These students are from VR College of Vaishali district. The director and principal of the college, Baccha Rai were arrested earlier followed by Former Board chairman Lalkeshwar Prasad and his wife's arrest.
BSEB chairman Anand Kishore told the media that he apparently 'cancelled the results' of the 14 toppers after the revaluation committee found that they did not deserve these results. After the retests and arrests, the awful condition of the state's education system came into light.
