Maharashtra CET is one of the most sought after MBA entrance exams in the country. Lakhs of aspirants appear for this exam each year. This year students who appeared for the common entrance test (CET) for MBA/MMS admissions to state's management institutes this year, found the paper to be extremely difficult as compared to the previous years.
They said that the logic and quant sections in the paper lengthy and challenging.
The exam was conducted online and was attended by 93% of the 74,305 registered for the exam. The CET was conducted across 166 centres in the state for admissions to institutes such as Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, Sydenham, Somaiya, Welingkar's, etc.
As per a student from a college in Vile Parle, the quant and logic questions were equivalent to ones asked in IIMs' common admission test (CAT).
Another student said that that none of the practice papers that he attempted from previous years matched the difficulty level of the paper this year, except for sections in verbal and visual reasoning.
Infact most of them were unable to complete on time, so, the cut-offs for most sought-after institutes such as JBIMS may drop to 140-145 this year. Usually it is above 160. But since most students found it difficult, the percentile marking also will be relative.
