There is little doubt over the fact that the Delhi University enjoys unparalleled popularity throughout the country. While the University is extremely famous for its undergraduate programs, recent news has shown that the demand for post graduate courses offered by the University is no less either.
According to the numbers released by the University, more than 1.29 lakh candidates applied for the master's and post graduate programs offered by the University. There are a total of 69 courses offered by the University's 51 departments. Out of the total applications, 1,02,667 belong to the general category. Also 7,276 candidates submitted applications for the research programs offered by DU "“ MPhil and PhD.
This is the first time ever that the University would conduct entrance tests outside Delhi also. The test would be conducted at 6 cities, including Delhi. The highest number of applicants came from the National Capital itself, followed by Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Bihar.th
The number of women candidates is much more than men. A total of 71,878 women candidates applied for the courses, as compared to 57,168 men in the post graduate courses.
