Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister of Mumbai said that the results of the Mumbai University will be out by August 5.
Earlier, the results of the Mumbai Uiversity were scheduled to be declared on July 31.
Because of the delay in the results many students are unable to apply in the foreign universities. Due to the delay in the results of Mumbai University, Shiv Sena sought the removal of the Sanjay Deshmukh. Sanjay Deshmukh is vice chancellor of the Mumbai University.
“The work for assessing around 17 lakh papers is undertaken in one go, which could have been implemented in phases. It (phase-wise assessment) could have helped in avoiding the current mess,” the chief minister said.
The minister said that 14 lakh papers have been assessed but until all the papers have been evaluated they cannot announce the results.
“The university has also completed (the assessment of) results of 171 exams, but all the results will be declared by August 5,” Fadnavis said.
After declaring the results, the University will issue the certificates to the students who are keen on applying to the foreign universities for further studies.
For the entire mess regarding the delay in the declaring the results, Senior NCP leader Ajit Pawar blamed the government.
“The minister has failed completely. The results of 306 exams are still awaited because of the delay in the online assessment,” Pawar added.
