Chief minister Arvind Kejriwal reviewed the schemes of the SC/ST departments with special emphasis on those which are related to the disbursal of the scholarships which had been delayed. The government is now planning to set up a call center for this to help the students.
In July, The IE reported that according to the Delhi government more than five lakh scholarships have not been disbursed to the students from SC/ST and other minority classes.
In some cases the scholarships have not been disbursed for more than a year and the officers had kept the government in dark in the matter.
“The CM instructed to set up/hire a call center for helping SC/ST students/applicants seeking scholarships,” said a government statement.
Arvind Kejriwal said that a helpline will also be provided to the applicants where they will be able to submit their complaints regarding the issues related in availing the scholarships.
