Six new IIMs are being built in different states. The IIM-V was laid by HRD Minister Smriti Irani. The premier institute is to commence its operations from a building in Andhra Pradesh. The permanent campus will be built at Ghambeeram. The Indian Institute of Management Vizag is being built. There has been a discontent regarding the driving test track of the road transport authority at Gambheeram.
Keeping this is in mind the state government will assign 245 acres at first and later 120 acres for the prestigious institute. The 245 acres in one survey are to be handed over to the state technical education department as conveyed by the Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. District collector N Yuvaraj informed these order of the state government.
Some part of the land that has been marked down for the IIM-V will be handed by the district administration within two week to the state technical education department which will further be given to IIM-V.

The state authorities have been notified to lay a separate approach road to the track and not to lay their hands on the RTA driving test track.
Also the remaining land in the area will be given to the IIM authorities.
A total of the 245 acres is in the village of Ananadapuram mandal at Gambheeram and is on the outskirts of the Port City. This part of the land is in the survey number 68.The land in the survey number 88 is suitable for construction which will be allotted for greening purposes.
The initial plan lays down the construction of a compound wall around the land by Vuda. The driving test track is being used since May 20014.It had been constructed for around Rs 2 crore.
Earlier the entire land also including the modern driving test track was to be handed over. However there were opposition from the RTA and lorry owner's association due to which the plan had to be altered.
