With new session of Delhi University about to commence, the university is taking some strict steps to ensure that the campus is ragging free when the new comers arrive in the colleges. For this purpose, the university has released a notice in all its colleges which contains a list of measures to stop activities like ragging and eve teasing.
Below are some of the measures taken by the University
To prevent the ranging on the university/college grounds, the university has asked the guardians of all the students to submit an undertaking stating that their ward will not indulge in activities like ragging. For the same purpose, two joint control rooms have also been set up by the University in the North and South campus in this regard.
Safety of female students
In order to protect the interest of the female students, the university has tied up with the Delhi Police as a result of which women police will be present on the campus in the plain clothes and any one indulging in the events like eve teasing and similar will be taken care of immediately. Women police trained in martial arts will also be present on the campus. Not only they will keep an eye on the campus but will also, provide basic training in self-defense to the female students.
University is also taking measures to prevent the entry of the outsiders into the campus. Defacing the university walls with paints, graffiti or by any other means is also prohibited.
