After having been closed for a while, 'eGyanKosh', which
provided synthesized, authentic notes to the students (the Indira Gandhi
National Open University (IGNOU) initiated a compiled format of notes for the
students at a popular notes website) has been started again.
The website gives one month free trial to the students who
need it urgently and cannot bear expenses. The website charges a minimal amount
to access the university's important notes.
The website is quite popular as the site was publicly
launched on June 9, 2008 receiving as many as "20 lakh hits, and more than
1,000 visits per day from all over the world. The website had around three lakh
registered users previously. IGNOU initiated the hub of knowledge eGyanKosh
(www.egyankosh.ac.in) in October, 2005. It has print material for around 2,565
courses and 2,389 video programmes.
Many students were really upset with the website not working for all this while as they were not being able to access the study material they required. The news of its resumption is sure to bring in cheer to a lot of students.
