The new Sales Excellence programme at GIA's (Gemological Institute of America) Mumbai campus will support the specific needs of retail sales teams. The special two-day programme debuting on Aug. 3 will highlight transparency, product knowledge, building customer relationships and the concept of service.
The comprehensive two-day course on sales excellence will give retail jewellers the knowledge, tools and confidence to accurately and effectively translate the GIA-created 4Cs of diamond quality and the International Diamond Grading Systemâ„¢ across the counter to their customers. GIA instructors will use case studies and role playing to help students develop the attributes and qualities of a star salesperson.
"The jewellery sales staff are an important asset because they are the main point of contact for the customer," said Nirupa Bhatt, managing director of GIA in India and the Middle East. "GIA's new programme on sales excellence will help these retail sales professionals communicate brand and product value across the counter adeptly."
GIA, the global leader in gem and jewellery education, also offers full- and part-time courses on diamonds, coloured stones, pearls, merchandising, jewellery design and more. The Institute conducts regular corporate seminars on jewellery-related topics across 30 cities in India.
