The Union Human Resource Development
minister, Prakash Javadekar was present at an occasion to lay the foundation
stone of a Central School at Budayan village in Jind district, Haryana, accompanied
by Union Minister of Steel, Birender Singh. Speaking on the occasion, the HRD
Minister said that ‘’effective steps’’ were being taken by the government to
make quality education accessible to the youth
in the country.
"India is leading in every sector as
per the aspirations of the people. The base of development of any state or
country depends on the quality of education being provided. To strengthen this
base, both Central and state governments are making concerted efforts, " commented
Javadekar.
The minister quoted statistics, revealing
that more than 700 universities, 38,000 colleges and 15 lakh schools are
functional in the country, where 27 crore students are being taught by about
one crore teachers. In addition, 3,000 schools are being established every year
for making quality education accessible to all. He also urged the teachers to work
towards building the future of the country with complete devotion.
He lauded the Haryana Chief Minister,
Manohar Lal Khattar for the "development works" being carried out by
his government, and said, the state "is progressing at a very fast pace in
all spheres of development".
Union Minister of Steel, Birender Singh also
took the occasion to comment on the importance of education, stating that education
is the key to success and the establishment of this school will be extremely
beneficial for students of the area to access "quality education".
