The Gujarat University was in for a major shock this week when it found out that question paper of the semester II exam of the B.Ed course was an exact copy of a prelims paper given in a B.Ed college situated on the SG Highway.
To avoid the embarrassing situation, the authorities said that they have no idea about the matter and haven't received any complaint.
Upon comparing the two papers, it was found that 2nd semester's 'Expanding Horizon of Secondary Education' paper had almost the same questions as the paper given in the college. The only difference was that the words were slightly changed.
When asked, the VC of the University, M N Patel pleaded ignorance.
But according to some senior professors, this hasn't been the first time when such an incidence has happened. Question papers for B.Com and BA have suffered similar fate in the past.
Inexperience of the paper setter might have led to this, according to some experts.
