Shri Satya Narayan Mohanty, Secretary in the Higher Education department of HRD (Human Resource Development) ministry, launched AISHE 2014-15 (All India Survey on Higher Education) today in the capital. This survey is undertaken on a pan-India level to ascertain the status of Higher education in the country. Spanning over all the Higher Education Institutes of the country, this annual survey is online in nature.
The final reports of 2011-12 and provisional reports of 2012-13 AISHE survey have been previously released by the Government. With the 2014-15 edition of the survey being launched soon after the 2013-14 survey which began on 17th June 2014, the ministry has tried to cover up the dissemination of the statistics regarding the state of Higher education in the country.
Some of the parameters covered in the survey include examination results, teachers, student enrolment, education finance, infrastructure, programs and much more. The statistics collected by this survey play a major role in the policy making decisions undertaken by the Government. They also assist in undertaking education related research work in the country.
The data collected by the survey is updated annually and uploaded on the AISHE portal. This portal can be accessed on http://aishe.gov.in
