School Education minister Vijay Shah, after making a weird announcement at MP's Satna district that students will answer the roll call by saying 'Jai Hind' instead of 'yes sir' or 'yes mam', has come up with another instructions. Under the new instructions he asked the Madrassas in the state to hoist the national flag and sing national anthem daily.
Commenting on the Foundation Day celebrations at the Madhya Pradesh Madrasa Board he said that doing so will inculcate the patriotism among the students.
He also stated that apart from the religious education, madrassas should also impart primary education. He also said that government will soon introduce the computer education in madrassas.
According to the reports from HT, MP Muslim Vikas Parishad president Mohd Mahir voiced its protests and asked why government should force such a practice on Madrassas?
"I fail to understand why the state government keeps asking the Muslim community to prove its patriotism," he said. "Muslims are citizens of the country. They take part in the election process. They cast votes. They contest elections. They pay taxes. They do everything a citizen of the country should do. But orders like these are issued to create divisions in society."
CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan was also present at that occasion and said that in modern times apart from religious education modern education is also important and said that the government would double the grant given to madrassas.
