Owning to various technical glitches and faults the result portal of the Mumbai university remained down for the second consecutive day on Tuesday. However, officials claimed that the portal worked fine throughout the day.
The result portal of the university has been down since last Saturday when the university released the results of the Commerce stream leaving the students in anxiety.
“The website was working for some time during the day but has been down again. The problem is yet to be identified but prima facie appears to be a server connectivity issue,” said an official from the university.
Apart from this issue the assessment process has also gone slow at the university due to heavy rains in the city. As a result of heavy rains, only 145 teachers turn up for the assessment on Tuesday and only 5,847 papers were assessed.
With around lakhs of papers yet to be assessed, the university is most likely to miss the 31st August deadline.
In yet another problem, the results of the thousands of students were hold by the university due various reasons such as untraceable answer sheets and un-assessed answer sheets.
“For those students whose results are on hold, there are more than one reasons for it. We are solving these cases individually on a case-to-case basis,” said an official, adding the reconciliation process was time- consuming.
The university issued a notice in which it said that the withheld results will be declared within 10 days.
