Minister of State for Planning, Science &Technology and Earth Sciences Dr Ashwani Kumar stated in Lok Sabha today that the Government proposes to frame a new Science, Technology and Innovation Policy aimed at sustainable growth in the country.
The Minister assured the House that the blue print is likely to be made available before September 2012.
Dr. Ashwani Kumar informed the MPs that renowned scientists and other experts would be consulted before finalizing the policy document. The Government proposes to host draft policy on the websites and seek suggestions in the public domain. External consultations mechanism involving stakeholders, scientists, technocrats, industrialists, and industry Chambers is proposed.
