The government now has approved the online entrance examination for the recruitment of personnel in the army for various ranks. The decision came into effect after the question papers for some lower level recruitment in the army were leaked in Maharashtra and Goa last month.Taking the paper leak incident seriously, the government approved the introduction of online examination.
CBI to probe the matter
Minister of state defense for state, Subhash Bhamre, in a response to the written question in Lok Sabha said, the government has ordered the CBI probe and CBI is probing the matter currently.
"Strict instructions have been issued to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and that any violations will be strictly dealt with. Further, the government has approved introduction of Online Entrance Examination for recruitment of other ranks in the army," Bhamre said.
Paper leak in February
In Goa and Maharashtra, the question papers for the recruitment of personnel in army for some lower posts were allegedly leak, which lead to the cancellation of the examination. The crime branch of thane arrested 18 people for the alleged involvement in the leak.The exam was to be held for the number of posts such as soldier clerk and soldier tradesman in 52 different centers. The candidates from class 8 to 12 were eligible to apply for these posts.
