In order to improve the education level of Minorities and Tribal people, HRD ministry is planning to open separate schools for them on the line of Kendriya Vidyalayas and Navodya Vidyalayas. In a recent meeting of the NCERT, the discussion regarding the same was also held. The meeting was attended by the MHRD officials.
These new schools will be run and managed by the Central government and will follow the syllabus of the NCERT like rest of the government schools. NCERT has already been told to start the work in order to prepare the curriculum for these schools.
According to the reports form DNA, a recent report submitted by the panel on education for minority groups suggested the need for revamping the education for the children of such minority groups.
Conforming the development in the plan, a senior MHRD official said "A group secretaries from different ministries have started working on the plan to develop schools for minorities on the lines of KVs and NVs. In fact, not just minorities, there will a special school for tribals as well. We will create a separate segment of schools that will be run on the lines Central government schools."
