Students of IITs and central universities will soon be grooving on the patriotic songs but in rock style. With Indian government planning to organize 'Yeh India ka Time hai' program, HRD ministry has asked the IITs and central universities to host rock band concerts in the institutes. However, this time these rock bands will perform the patriotic songs in their rock style.
The patriotic songs to be performed will also include several patriotic hits from the Bollywood films.
A senior official from the ministry said that they have already booked a private entertainment firm which will make the selection of such bands for the performances.
As of now, the firm has identified several rock bands and is planning to organize the concert in various institutes over the span of next month.
The program is being organized to celebrate 70 years of Independence of India. This will also mark the 75 years of Quit India Moment.
Earlier this month, on the occasion of Independence Day, the government had asked the schools and colleges to organize the trip to the memorials of freedom fighters and directed the educational institutes to organize the oath ceremony to make the nation "terrorism-free, caste-free, corruption-free, uncleanness-free and poverty-free".
