Pearson Academy India (PAI), the training arm of Bangalore-based Pearson Clinical and Talent Assessment (PCTA), a global developer and publisher of psychological assessments headquartered in the UK, today signed on Mumbai-based Vrudhi as its authorized training centre for the western region. Vrudhi's appointment will help PAI deliver its clinical workshops to a larger population of mental health professionals, school teachers, special educators and post-graduate psychology students in Maharashtra and the surrounding western region. With an aim to benefit an even larger audience, PAI plans for a nation-wide presence through its authorized training centres.
PAI clinical workshops enable participants to receive higher-order clinical knowledge and insights into PCTA's flagship psychological assessments such as the Wechsler child and adult intelligence test series and Dyslexia Screening tests, that are used in clinical and educational settings across the country. Participants learn administration, scoring and interpretation of these tests and upgrade their knowledge about new subtests that have been introduced in the revised editions. PAI's Learning Disability assessment modules are helping schools train their teachers and special educators in identifying children at risk for Dyslexia.
Addressing the media, Mr Pranjal Barma, Head, Training & Certification, PAI, said "Our clinical assessment workshops are respected and trusted for their ability to educate professionals and students in the standardized administration and interpretation of our psychological assessments. The tie up with Vrudhi will give PAI workshops the required visibility and reach in this region. Mumbai is a hub for psychological services and caters to the mental-health needs of a rapidly growing population that requires trained professionals to meet these needs."
Present during the deal signing, Dr Dhaval Mody, Managing Director, Vrudhi stated, "Vrudhi is a pioneer organization for helping those suffering from psychological problems. We have been working closely with schools in identifying, assessing and supporting children with special needs and promoting awareness about mental health among teachers, parents and children. Our society not only lacks awareness and acceptance of mental-health issues but is also grappling with a severe service provider shortfall in the mental health sector. With this agreement, we wish to train professionals from various fields who address psychological, educational & developmental issues."
