The National Data Sharing and Accessibility Policy 2012 (NDSAP 2012) has already been formulated and approved by the Government. Data owning departments of the Government of India have accorded one year to upload sharable data and declare negative list, if any. The NDSAP limits the scope to India generated by the Central Government and sharable data.
The objective of the NDSAP 2012 is to facilitate the access to Government of India owned sharable data and information. The policy will apply to all data and information created generated, collected and archived using public funds provided by Government of India directly and through authorized agencies.
The above information was given by the Minister of State in the Ministry of Planning, Science & Technology and Earth Sciences Dr. Ashwani Kumar to the Parliament today.
