CBSE conducted the class 12 board exams from March 9 to April 29 and the results of the same were declared by the board on May 28. The overall pass percentage of the students had dipped this year to 82 percent as opposed to 83.05 percent last year.
A student named Raksha Gopal from Amity International School, Noida, secured the top position in the nation with 99.6 percent.
HRD Minister congratulated all the students
After the results were declared HRD minister Prakash Javadekar congratulated all the students for the efforts and excellent performance.
He also tweeted "I congratulate all the students who have succeeded in CBSE Board exam as well as other state board exams because success gives you more strength and confidence. But at the same time I also call upon my students who could not succeed. The defeat is not final unless we keep trying. This is all because of your hard work and talent that you gave such a remarkable performance."
He also said that he called the first three toppers today Raksha Gopal, Bhumi Sawant, Mannat Luthra and Aditya Jain and is very happy to see that all of these are from diverse branches.
