Thokchom Radheshyam, Manipur Education Minister, assured the public that people responsible for leaking the class 12 Physics question paper will be caught and punished severely and for this he seeks the cooperation from the society and from the student union as well.
"I assure befitting punishment under the law to the involved persons, no matter how highly placed they are. We also seek cooperation from all sections to ensure that there is no repeat of it," the Minister said.
Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur (COHSEM) was responsible for conducting the class 12 examination but prior to the physics exam, the question was allegedly leaked by someone on the social media.
Police is already investigating the paper leak case but education department is probing the matter on personal level, leaving no stone unturned and making all the efforts to catch the person/s responsible for the criminal act.
Police said that they have arrested 16 persons in the paper leak case so far and they are probing them in order to find out about how they get the question paper in the first place.
Students' organization Democratic Students Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) said, "The mere arrest of the persons who uploaded and posted the same is not enough. The officials responsible for the leak should be booked." According to the police, paper leak is one of the thriving businesses in the state.
