Student union elections in the higher educational institute of Rajasthan will be held on August 28.
These elections will be conducted for the posts of president, vice-president, secretary and joint-secretary and will be held from 8 am to 1 pm.
“The elections will be based on the recommendations of the Lyngdoh Committee and all vice-chancellors and principals have been directed to ensure there is no violation of the recommendations,” said the state higher education minister.
The Lyngdoh Committee has a set of guidelines for free and transparent students' elections. The guidelines include eligibility criteria for the candidates, transparency in the expenditures related to the elections and barring the candidates from re-contesting the elections.
The list of the voters will be published on August 21 and objections regarding the same will be received on August 22 after which the list be republished later on the same day. Candidates will begin filing the nomination papers on August 23 and the final list will be declared on August 24.
