Nandini KR, an officer of Indian Revenue Services, has topped the prestigious UPSC's civil service examinations 2016. The results for the UPSC's civil service examination were declared on Thursday. At present, Nandini is undergoing training at the National Academy of Customs, Excise and Narcotics in Faridabad.
The second rank is scored by Anmol Sher Singh Bedi and he is a topper among all male candidates. He is originally an engineering graduate in Computer Science from BITS pilani.
18 men and 7 women comprise top 25 candidates of the civil service examination.
Nandini, who belongs to Karnataka, said, being a IAS officer was always my dream. “It is like a dream come true. I always wanted to be an IAS officer,” she told PTI.
For Nandini, this was her fourth attempt at the civil service examinations. She had cracked the 2014 civil service examination but was allotted Indian Revenue Services.The topper belongs to OBC category and is an engineering graduate from M.S. Ramaiah Institute of Technology, Bengaluru in Civil Engineering.
The Civil Service Examination is conducted by the UPSC on annual basis in three stages- pre, mains and interview. The exam is conducted to select the candidates for elite Indian Administrative Services (IAS), the India Foreign Services (IFS) and the Indian Police Service (IPS) among many others.
