Recent opening by the West Bengal government for the posts
of peon, orderly darwan, farash, and night guard has received more than 25 Lakh
applications including those having done PhDs.
This clearly shows the sad state of affairs of employment in
India. In the face of acute unemployment opposition parties have attached the
Mamata Banerjee-led Bengal Government over its promise to curb unemployment.
As per the reports, many graduates, post graduates and even
PhD holders are among the 25 Lakh candidates who have applied for the Group D
posts in the West Bengal secretariat.
There are 6000 openings for the Group D personnel in various
categories. The last date to apply for these posts is 29th January.
Educational Qualification required for the Group D Posts:
The minimum qualification for these posts is class 7 passed
from a recognized school under the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or
its equivalent board.
The age limit for the same is 40 years. The selection would
be done on the basis of written exam and interview.
The monthly salary for the above posts would be about
16,200.00
In year 2015, more than 23 Lakh people had applied for 368
posts of peon in the Uttar Pradesh government secretariat.
