Overview (Introduction begins here!!):
From the year 2016 the examination of AIEEE will not be there. The colleges taking admission through AIEEE will now take admission through JEE (mains) and JEE (advanced). AIEEE was an entrance test conducted every year since 2002 for the admission in engineering courses. The Central Board of Secondary Education conducts this examination for architectural and other engineering courses in various recognized colleges. Mostly 5 IIT’s and 30 NIT’s take admission through AIEEE course. The candidates who qualify JEE main will be selected for the JEE advance examination.

Eligibility Criteria (Do you have it in you!!):
The candidates whose date of birth falls on or after October 01, 1991 are eligible to apply. The candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) are given a reservation on upper age limit and is relaxed by 5 years that means they can apply if born on or after October 01, 1986 are eligible.
- Year of Passing Criteria:
The candidates must have passed their class 12th examination or equivalent exam in 2014 or 2015 are eligible. Also, the students appearing in 12th in the year 2016 are eligible.
The candidates who have passed senior secondary or other qualifying exams in 2013 or before are not eligible to appear in JEE mains 2016.
The candidates who have appeared in 12th or other qualifying examinations in the year 2013, but passed in 2014 are not eligible to appear in JEE mains 2016.
The candidates who are appear in improvement examination of 12th class in 2016 have to appear in all the 5 subjects as per the scheme of study of the concerned board.
There are some state level criteria for students taking admissions in institutions of the states of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Nagaland and Odisha. So it is advised that students should read their eligibility criteria carefully.
It is to be noted that attempts for JEE mains are limited to 03.
