Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board conducts the ICAR ARS / NET exam for the recruitment of qualified professionals within the State Agricultural Universities or other Agricultural Universities. ASRB carry out two tests mainly, ARS / NET Examination Preliminary and Main Examination so as to select the eligible candidates. Aspirants who pass the preliminary test can attend the main exam. Those who clear both these tests and the interview thereafter can expect employments in SAUâ€™s / AUâ€™s as Assistant Professors or Lecturers.
Postgraduates in the concerned field are eligible to apply for the preliminary test. Aspirants should have done the qualifying course from a certified University. The eligibility criterion to attend the ICAR ARS/NET mains is a pass in the preliminary test with the required score. In addition, applicants should be aged above 21 and below 32 years as per the notification date. Those who are working in ICAR need to be below 45 years and the upper age limit for State Agricultural University employees is 35 years.
â€¢ Paper pattern
The preliminary test will be of objective type while the main exam may also contain explanatory type. Both the test comprises of questions on Agriculture & Allied Sciences. Questions on common awareness and current affairs will also be included in the test. The preliminary test will be for a time period of 150 minutes carrying 200 marks whereas the mains will be for 3 hours carrying 240 marks. There will also be a Viva â€“ Voce test carried as part of the mains for 60 marks.

1. for General: Rs-1000
2. for OBS (Non-Creamy Layer): Rs-500
3. for SC/ST/PC: Rs-250.

2. ARSB will conduct the NET exams from the Last week of May to First week of April, 2015.
