Overview (Introduction begins here!!)
The Combined Engineering Service Examination held every year in the month of May/June by UPSC. The examination is conducted for the engineering students in the above branches to serve the nation through engineering services.

(d) Electronics & telecommunication Engineering.

Pay Scale (Salary Credits!!)
The pay scale for ESE cleared students may vary from state to state. It is different for different departments.
Eligibility Criteria (Do you have it in you!!)
- The age of the applying candidates should be between 21 to 30 years as on 1st
January 2016. The other relaxations are as per government norms.
- The applicants must be graduate or in the final year of engineering.
- The students
who are having M.Sc degree or
its equivalent can also apply for some specific posts, if they have special subjects
like Wireless Communications, Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering
in their post graduation.

How to Apply (Accelerate Yourself!!)
Step 1: Login to the website www.upsconline.nic.in.
Step 2: Click on the link on the websiteâ€ ONLINE APPLICATION FOR VARIOUS EXAMINATIONS OF UPSCâ€.
Step 3: There will be two parts for registration. Part 1 consists of basic details.
Step4: After registration on part1, the part2 can be started. The part 2 consists of a photograph and signature uploading and also the submission of the fee.
Step5: Finally, take the final application form printout for future reference.
Paper Pattern (Time to show Skills!!)
The examination consists of two sections. In the first section there will be objective type test for testing General knowledge, English and technical subjects. The second section is conventional papers for the testing, technical subjects only. If the candidates qualify the 1st section, then only the second section will be checked. There will be negative marking of 1/3rd marks in the section 1.

The number of vacancies is different for different branches of engineering. Till date, there is no notification regarding vacancies for the examination.
