Indian Army consist number of arms and services. The range of opportunity is very wide. Though there are hundreds of diverse activities in the defence services, but the real flavor lies with the soldiers who are on the general duty.
For the recruitment of soldier for general duty Indian Army conducts an exam namely Indian Army Soldier General Duty Examination.
This examination is generally held four times in a year and advertised in the Employment News and other leading dailies.

• Paper pattern
Eligible candidates will be required to appear for a Indian Army written test. Common Entrance Examination (CEE) is conducted on 4th Sunday of Jan, Mar, May, Jul. Sep & Nov. for recruitment of Soldiers. It comprises of following two papers:
Paper – l: It generally comprises of questions on IQ, Numerical ability, general knowledge and current affairs.
Duration of papers is 60 minutes.
Total marks 100 Pass Marks 32
Paper – II: It generally comprises of Maths & English (Language Proficiency).
Duration – 30 minutes.
• How to apply?
Blank application forms are available free of cost at local Recruitment Offices, District Collector's Office, Zila Parishads and Employment Exchanges. Candidates are at liberty to send their application on plain paper, handwritten/typed but as per format.
