• Overview
IBPS has been conducting national-level recruitment for jobs in the Banking Industry for the past 40 years, organizing both written tests and interviews (some Banks conduct the interviews themselves). Recently the previous paper based exam pattern gave way to computer based testing. 20+ Banks are participating in the Bank Clerk recruitment.
To apply for IBPS (Institute of Banking Personnel Selection) Bank Clerk recruitment examination it's important to know about your eligibility. Although final selection is decided by a personal interview (after clearing the exam), meeting a few eligibility criteria is necessary to qualify for the written exam.
• Eligibility
I. Age: Minimum age 20 and Maximum age 28
II. Education: Graduation in any stream
III. Computer literacy is necessary, either having studied as school level or having completed any type of Certificate/Diploma/Degree
IV. Proficiency (read, write and speak) in the official language of the State/Union territory where you are interested in working
V. Relaxation in age eligibility is available for SC, ST, OBC, Persons with Disability and Ex-Servicemen.
VI. Scoring minimum required marks is the eligibility to appear for the interview.
• Paper pattern
The 2 hour online examination consists of objective type questions with 1/4th or 0.25 negative marking for each incorrect answer. Candidates can complete the examination in Hindi or English except for the English Language section.
The Exam consists of 5 sections:-
1. Reasoning: Maximum Marks - 40
2. English Language: Maximum Marks - 40
3. Numerical Ability: Maximum Marks - 40
4. General Awareness with Special reference to the Banking Industry: Maximum Marks - 40
5. Computer Knowledge: Maximum Marks - 40
Total Maximum Marks - 200
Practicing sample questions and previous year questions will help you prepare for the Exam.
6. IBPS will shortlist candidates based on the written test and call them for the interview.
• How to apply?
Application is done online only, by filling in the online form available at the official IBPS website, uploading their picture and signature and completing the payment process.
How to pay online:
To pay online, a candidate can make payment only through Master/Visa Debit or Credit cards or through Internet Banking by providing information asked by the system. Once the transaction is successful system will generate a registration number and password will be generated which the candidates must note for future mention. The system will generate an e-receipt which the candidate will have to take out in form of a print out copy.
How to pay offline:
To pay offline, candidate will have to submit the fee only at the CBS branches of any one of the 7 Public Sector Banks - Bank of Baroda, Bank of India, Bank of Maharashtra, Central Bank of India, Indian Overseas Bank, Punjab National Bank, and United Bank of India. once registered the payment will be accepted only after form 2md working day. Applicant will receive Registration confirmation SMS/e-mail after two working days from the date of the payment of fees.
