International English Language Testing System is commonly known as IELTS. The test is held to judge the English Language Proficiency. The test is held for the non-native students and want to take admissions in the universities of UK, Australia, New Zealand and Canada. IELTS examination is conducted by various examination boards, namely, University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations, British Council, and IDP: IELTS Australia.

Eligibility Criteria (Do you have it in you!!)
The eligibility for IELTS examination is as follows:
All people are allowed to appear in IELTS but it is advised that students under age 16 should not apply. Medical professionals may also apply who are willing to work or study in the UK, Australia or US. The candidates who are planning to emigrate to Canada, New Zealand or Australia can also apply. The fee for the Indian candidates is Rs.7600 for the registration.

IELTS test dates are different for different countries and cities. After registering online the candidates can choose exam center and dates. There are almost 200 centers of the IELTS examination in 50 countries.

How to Apply (Accelerate Yourself!!)
For applying candidates can visit the page http://www.ielts.org/test_takers_information/how_do_i_register/how_do_i_register.aspx and follow the instructions. The candidates can download the information bulletin and choose the test center where they want to give the test. After that on the above page students can download, the type of form they want to fill and fill the details. During the form filling procedure one photocopy of passport must be kept ready.
